Mei is drawn to a mysterious man named Hisao on the first day of her new job at the pet store. He’s strangely fearless, and the more Mei learns about him, the more questions she has. After seeing him easily defeat a pack of criminals at Hyde Park, she begins to wonder: 

is he even human? 

However, her curiosity has put her in danger, as she is drawn into a battle between Hisao and the A.P.s (artificial people) and now needs his seemingly supernatural protection just to stay safe. Hisao believes there is a hidden controller sending the A.P.s after him while government officials are investigating the matter but suppressing the truth. What started as an innocent date has plunged Mei into a hidden world of conspiracy, surveillance, and murder, and she needs to decide who to trust.  

The Silent War 2086 is an adult sci-fi graphic novel filled with supernatural action, mystery, and occasional dark humor.
